Hannibal Travel is arguably one of Denmark’s most exciting, and wide-reaching specialist travel companies, fronted by Jesper Hannibal.
Offering bespoke tours to some of the world’s more interesting and special destinations, we were initially brought on board to look at their brochureware and digital documents, but soon spotted an oppurtunity to renew and reinvigorate, not just the logo design, but the overal visual identity.
Crilly & Wardell were tasked to develop a revitalised, relevant and evolved brand identity to help share their unique story about their fanatical commitment to creating trips of a lifetime and create an engaging customer experience to educate travellers about the experience of Hannibal Travel. The refreshed brand needed to reduce the complexity of the existing branding and collateral while reflecting the brand’s positioning and excitement of travel to exotic destinations.
For the core logo design, we wanted to hero the Hannibal elephant, and first step was to create a new stylised elephant visual mark paired with a bespoke typographic treatment of the name ‘Hannibal’. While retaining the old core colours of orange and black, we built up a new secondary colour palette of warm grey and shades of orange to expand the overall visual language.
From here, we built on the company’s vision and purpose to create the powerful tagline ‘Eksperter i evener!’ – that captured and communicated the Hannibal Travel brand promise; ‘Experts in Adventure!’
We rationalised the brand architecture to make it possible for the brand to ‘travel’ around the world, ensuring it could sit with imagery from every continent around the world. We then set to work on creating a brand-new visual identity that would bring the brand promise to life.

Crilly & Wardell fik til opgave at udvikle en revitaliseret, relevant og udviklet brandidentitet for at hjælpe med at dele deres unikke historie om deres fanatiske engagement i at skabe livets rejser og skabe en engagerende kundeoplevelse for at oplyse rejsende om oplevelsen af Hannibal Travel. Det fornyede brand skulle reducere kompleksiteten af det eksisterende branding og sikkerhedsstillelse, samtidig med at det afspejler brandets positionering og spænding ved rejser til eksotiske destinationer.
Til kernelogodesignet ønskede vi at fremføre Hannibal-elefanten, og første skridt var at skabe et nyt stiliseret elefant-visuelt mærke parret med en skræddersyet typografisk behandling af navnet ‘Hannibal’. Mens vi bibeholdt de gamle kernefarver orange og sort, opbyggede vi en ny sekundær farvepalet af varm grå og orange nuancer for at udvide det overordnede visuelle sprog.
Herfra byggede vi videre på virksomhedens vision og formål for at skabe den kraftfulde slogan ‘Eksperter i evener!’ – der fangede og kommunikerede Hannibal Travel-mærkeløftet; ‘Experts in Adventure!’
Vi rationaliserede brandets arkitektur for at gøre det muligt for brandet at ‘rejse’ rundt i verden, og sikrede, at det kunne have billeder fra alle kontinenter rundt om i verden. Derefter gik vi i gang med at skabe en helt ny visuel identitet, der ville bringe brandløftet ud i livet.
